Forerunner Watch – The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Enabled Sports Watch – A User’s Viewpoint
I have been using the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor
for the past several weeks and have used it for several dozen workouts so far. My workouts include running and biking.
The instantaneous readout of distance, running pace and heart rate is a great help in my workouts. The heart rate monitors is one of the best I have come across in several units that I have used.
The satellite signal once acquired by the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver
is quite steady. No dropouts yet which is something that I appreciate a lot since I do a lot of my running in the woods. The initial acquisition of the satellites takes some time.
The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor
a bit large but for my training needs is so perfect that am not bothered by the size factor as it is quite comfortable to wear. There is a slight mismatch between actual distance and the distance as shown by the the Forerunner 305 but that can is quite acceptable for the money I paid.
The widescree display is an absolute winner in this forerunner watch. I am so delighted with the crisp and clear display and very nice buttons. The toggle button helps us to move effortlessly to several screen displays which are again user customizable. I spent a few minutes setting up the various pieces of data I wanted at a glance. There are over 40 data pieces that you can choose from!!
Some drawbacks include elevation read outs which seem to vary wildly and also the pace readout. This too is quite inaccurate from the actual figure. Apart from that I am quite satisfied with my new acquistion.
